Job Description: Arboricultural Consultant
Summary
Crown Tree Consultancy seek to employ a full-time arboricultural surveyor / consultant in the south of England. Established in 2008, we are an expanding arboricultural consultancy with clients in the public and private sectors. We have a strong reputation for producing comprehensive and intelligible reports covering a wide variety of arboricultural matters. Peer to peer training and CPD budget to support personal development within the role will be provided.
Your Role
Your work shall involve tree surveying and report writing for various project types. You will:
- Survey trees at a variety of sites across London and the southeast.
- Produce BS5837 compliant Arboricultural Impact Assessment and Method Statements.
- Undertake large and small-scale tree condition surveys and provide management recommendations.
- Advise clients on all aspects of arboriculture.
- Undertake preliminary and ongoing vegetation-related subsidence investigations.
- Produce tree planting schemes.
- Undertake decay detection investigations using sonic tomography and resistance drilling.
- Oversee restricted construction activities, trial excavations and root surveys.
Requirements
The successful applicant shall have all (or most) of the following:
- Recognised arboricultural qualification (Level 5 and above preferred, minimum Level 4).
- UK driving license and a suitable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel and spend occasional nights away from home.
- Competent in tree species, and common pest and disease identification.
- Suitable work-from-home environment.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) essential.
- Understanding of CAD and GIS applications desirable.
- Working knowledge of British Standards 5837 and 3998 desireable.
- Lantra PTI certification preferable.
- Professional institution membership desirable (e.g. AA membership).
- Awareness of vegetation related subsidence.
- The ability to self-manage workloads and deadlines.
- A pleasant and professional manner when dealing with clients.
- Fluency in English language essential.
- Experience in a similar role is desirable; however, further training will be provided for the right candidate.
